Steve Rabalais engages in a civil litigation practice involving trucking, oilfield, maritime, insurance coverage, insurance bad faith, toxic tort, product liability, premises liability, automobile and general casualty cases. Mr. Rabalais’ practice also involves litigation of corporate and commercial matters including employment, construction, property, contract, expropriation and other disputes, as well as offering general advisory services to avoid such disputes. Mr. Rabalais now also offers Mediation services.
Mr. Rabalais was born in Morgan City, Louisiana, on October 10, 1960. He received a B.A. from Louisiana State University in 1982, summa cum laude and his Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University Law Center in 1985, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board. He is admitted to practice in all of the various civil and appellate courts in Louisiana as well as the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and all U.S. District Courts in Louisiana.
His legal memberships include the Lafayette Parish and Louisiana State Bar Associations. He is a member of the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA), the Louisiana Motor Transport Association, the Transportation Lawyers Association and Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. He has been a guest speaker at both the American Bar Association "Transportation Megaconference" as well as the Louisiana Motor Transport Association Annual Meeting.
